Step 1: Planning

This is the only part of my comic-making that isn't done on the computer. I just scribble things on some Post-Its.

1. First brainstorm about the sequence of images that will take place on the page. What poses should they be drawn in? Where should the characters be placed?

2. Draw a rectangle and divide it into 8 equal sections (This is so you don't accidentally put too many panels on one page). Sketch the sequence of actions and try to get the poses to look natural.

3. Draw another rectangle, take the plan from the previous step, and arrange the images into straight, rectangular panels.

4. Draw another rectangle, redraw the plan from the previous step, except this time plan out the diagonal lines in the paneling, and also which panels go over others.

Step 2: Setting up the panels

It's PHOTOSHOP TIME!! Open up a blank canvas that's 1100 by 1700 pixels. Using the pen, rectangle, and line tools, draw some panels and fill them with soft fluffy colors.
